My name is Corinne. My passion for cooking comes from my childhood. I was born on the island of Réunion, a small French colony off the coast of Madagascar. Although my parents moved to France when I was very small, the spirit of the island was very much alive in our home, and especially in our kitchen.

The food of Réunion is full of spice and sunshine. I vividly remember coming home from school to the smells of “massalé” and turmeric bubbling on the stove as my mother cooked creole specialties, and introducing my friends to the punchy tropical flavours of mango and passionfruit.

I love introducing those flavours into my cooking and often add tropical flavours from Réunion to my desserts to give a vibrant twist to the elegant French classics.

All the recipes used at Gourmandises Académie are my own, and each one has been developed with time and a lot of love. In 2014, my passion fruit tart was awarded 3 stars at the coveted Great Taste Awards, a real recognition in the highly competitive world of food. 

I love what I do, and to have my food honoured by such a renowned award is wonderful
